/Our Mission

Fitness For Every Body.

We believe a healthy lifestyle should be accessible to everyone, regardless of disability or socioeconomic status.

Every day, we commit ourselves to improving accessibility so that individuals of all abilities can experience health, wellness, belonging, and autonomy.

UBAFF is creating adaptive fitness facilities, inclusive programs, and opportunities that remove barriers for people with all disabilities.

/The Problem

Most Fitness Spaces

Are Not

Built For Us

For over 21 million Americans with mobility impairments,

Traditional gym exercise machines require users to transfer from their wheelchairs, walkers, and assistive devices, or skip the exercise altogether.

Lack of Assistance

Inaccessible Equipment

Financial Barriers

Without staff available to safely assist with equipment setups, adaptive aids, or repositioning needs,

Getting to a gym can require specialized vehicles, extra time, reliance on others,

Logistics

The result is that consistent access to fitness remains out of reach for a large portion of our community.

members with disabilities are left to manage complex movements alone or hire personal assistance.

Transfers can be physically demanding or unsafe if performed without proper training, assistance, or functional ability.

Without true roll-onto designs or swing-away seats, meaningful access ends for the user.

Lack of reliable support turns a workout into a physical and financial burden.

adequate parking, automated doors, elevators, or access to transit services...

These hurdles often become the deciding factor in whether someone can maintain a fitness routine.

attending a standard gym means confronting a series of physical and socioeconomic obstacles.

Adaptive equipment, personal assistance, accessible transportation, all add significant cost.

Many individuals already face higher medical and living expenses related to their disability.

/THE HEALTH GAP

The lack of accessible fitness facilities is more than an inconvenience,

/OUR PHILOSOPHY

"wheelchair-bound"

is a fundamentally outdated and misinformed label,

because our wheelchairs and mobility aids are not our prisons—they are tools that liberate us with movement;

accessibility is not a burden for others—it is a standard for everyone;

inclusive design is not an afterthought, it is the foundation for our spaces.

Through adaptive thinking, we redefine what is possible and take back control of the narrative.

UnBound by labels

We break from the belief that our spaces and equipment must disable us. Every successful workout proves that our chairs, aids, and technologies enable us ALL to push further, aim higher, and become UnBound.
